Giulia Marinelli has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2007 with GECA ITALIA S.R.L. as an Analyst. In 2008, they served as a Junior Researcher for the Distretto dell'Audiovisivo e dell'ICT for Rome FictionFest, where they conducted quantitative and qualitative analysis of online fandom of some of the major Italian tv shows. From 2009 to 2011, Marinelli was a Research and Teaching Assistant at Sapienza University of Rome, Faculty of Communication Sciences, and a Junior Researcher at CATTID - Multimedia Lab, Sapienza Università di Roma. In 2011, they were an Executive Assistant & Research Analyst at Distretto dell'Audiovisivo e dell'ICT. From 2013 to 2017, Marinelli held various roles at We Are Social, including Senior Account Executive and Account Executive. During this time, they worked with brands such as BNL We Are Tennis, BNPP Cardif, Google, Vodafone, Manfrotto, Swatch, Enel, Findomestic, and BNL. In 2017, they became the Head Of Digital at BePop, where they managed an account team and a social media manager team and developed integrated communication campaigns. Since 2019, they have been at Virtuagym, where they have served as VP of Marketing, Senior Director Of Marketing, Marketing Performance & Strategy Director, Marketing Strategy & Insights Lead, and Digital Marketing Strategist.

Giulia Marinelli attended Sapienza Università di Roma from 2005-2008, where they earned a degree in Public Communication and Organizational Sciences with a focus in Communication & Media Studies. Giulia then attended Sapienza Università di Roma again from 2008-2011, where they earned a degree in Cultural Industries and Digital Communications with a focus in Communication. Finally, in 2011 they attended the Università degli Studi di Urbino Carlo Bo Summer School in Online Research Methodologies and Internet Studies.
