Ellis Valentiner has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. In 2006, they started as a Shift Manager at Noodles & Company, a position they held until 2008. From 2008 to 2012, Ellis worked at the University of Minnesota-Morris, first as a Community Advisor and later as a Residence Hall Director.
In 2012, Ellis became a Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University, where they worked until 2013. Following this, they joined the University of Michigan in 2013 as a Statistician Intermediate, working with the Children's Environmental Health Initiative and the National Center for Geospatial Medicine.
Ellis transitioned to the private sector in 2014 and joined FarmLogs as a Data Scientist. They later took on the role of Senior Data Scientist, leading a small team focused on creating data-driven tools for farmers. In 2016, Ellis moved to Powerley as a Senior Data Scientist, focusing on developing energy management solutions for smart homes.
In 2019, Ellis joined Groundspeed Analytics, Inc. as the Machine Learning Engineering Team Lead, where they stayed until 2022. Currently, Ellis works as the Lead Data Scientist at Virtual Facility, a position they have held since April 2022.
Ellis Valentiner obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology with a focus on Liberal Arts for the Human Services from the University of Minnesota-Morris. This degree was earned between the years 2007 and 2012. Following this, Ellis pursued a Master's degree in Statistical Practice from Carnegie Mellon University, which was completed between 2012 and 2013. In terms of certifications, Ellis obtained a certification in "How to Manage a Remote Team" from Coursera in November 2020.
