Mike Wilson

Mike Wilson is a seasoned IT and cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in both leadership and instructional roles. As Director of IT/Security at Virtual Peaker since July 2022, Mike oversees IT and security infrastructure while customizing solutions for the organization. Concurrently, as a Cyber Security Instructor for 2U, Mike teaches cybersecurity concepts tailored to diverse student needs. Previously, Mike served as Information Technology and Security Manager at CesiumAstro, focusing on compliance with NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2. A solid foundation in IT is demonstrated through various roles at the Applied Research Laboratories, where responsibilities included designing classified information systems and managing IT infrastructure for multiple operating systems. Mike's career began in the IT sector at Mercantile Bank of Michigan, where responsibilities encompassed infrastructure support and help desk assistance. Educationally, Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Religion/Japanese from Western Michigan University and completed computer science coursework at Michigan Technological University.
