Sunpreet Singh Arora

Sunpreet Singh Arora is a highly experienced director and researcher in identity and AI security. Currently serving as the Director of Visa Research since February 2017, Sunpreet leads teams focused on federated learning security, large language models safety, privacy-preserving biometrics, and passwordless authentication security. Prior roles include Lead Research Scientist and Staff Research Scientist at Visa Research, where significant contributions were made to privacy-preserving federated identity platforms and adversarial attack defenses in biometrics. Sunpreet is also active in various professional organizations, serving as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Biometrics, a Board Member for both the OpenID Foundation and FIDO Alliance, and has previously led the Industrial Committee for the IEEE Biometrics Council. An accomplished academic, Sunpreet has published research on fingerprint and iris recognition, holding a Ph.D. from Michigan State University and a B.Tech from Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi.
