Michael Spingler

Michael Spingler has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Michael started their career as a Small Enterprise Advisor for the Ghana Credit Union Association while working with the US Peace Corps. Michael then joined Catholic Relief Services, where they served as the COO of Thaneakea Phum Cambodia and later became the Links Learning Center Director. Spingler then moved to Chemonics International, where they worked as the Chief of Party for the Egypt Microenterprise Finance Project and later became the Middle East Director. Michael then joined Thaneakea Phum (Cambodia), Ltd., where they held the positions of Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. Spingler also worked as a Consultant for Project Sophia before joining VisionFund International. At VisionFund International, they held various roles, including Regional Director Asia and Discovery Management. Michael was also a Board Member for VisionFund Myanmar, VisionFund Cambodia, VisionFund Mongolia, CEVI, World Vision Vietnam Microfinance Program, Impact MFI, VisionFund Lanka, and VisionFund Indonesia. Additionally, they served as the Chief Executive Officer of WB Finance and was a Board Member for the same organization. Currently, Spingler holds the position of Regional Director Asia at VisionFund International.

Michael Spingler has a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Economics from Bryant University, which they obtained from 1986 to 1990. Michael also pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management from the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University from 1991 to 1992. In 2019, Michael Spingler attended the Harvard Business School - ACCION Program on Strategic Leadership in Inclusive Finance, where they earned an Executive Education Certificate. Additionally, they obtained a Certificate in Microenterprise / Microfinance from the Southern New Hampshire University's Microenterprise Development Institute, though the exact duration of their enrollment is unspecified.
