Carla Howard

Carla Howard has extensive experience in tax law and counsel. Carla worked as the SVP & General Tax Counsel for Vistra Energy from 2016 to present. Prior to that, they held the same role at Energy Future Holdings from 2007 to 2016. Carla also served as the Associate General Tax Counsel at Txu Corp from 2004 to 2007. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Sr. Manager Tax Controversy Services at KPMG LLP from 2000 to 2004 and as a Tax Counsel at Electronic Data Systems from 1995 to 2000. Carla also gained valuable experience as a Sr. Tax Attorney at ARCO from 1990 to 1995 and as an Associate at Thompson & Knight LLP from 1985 to 1990.

Carla Howard attended Baylor University from 1976 to 1980, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Business & Journalism. Following this, they attended Texas Tech University School of Law from 1983 to 1985 and obtained a Doctor of Law (JD) degree, specializing in Taxation.
