Mr. Lovenheim has more than 38 years of experience in the management of early-stage technology businesses. His management roles have included CEO, Group CEO, Director, Chairman, and Corporate Counsel. For the past 7 years, he has led Keystones Global, LLC, a national consulting firm based in Virginia that works with entrepreneurial businesses. He also serves (and has since 1988) as the managing director of Esplanade Ventures in executive capacities when called upon by Esplanade’s portfolio companies. His experience includes an aggregate of 29 years of involvement in the management of medical device firms.
Since 1982, Mr. Lovenheim has served on the boards of directors of more than 45 technology companies in North America and Europe, including several in the medical device, health care, and bio-equipment industries. Most of these companies have been acquired with favorable results for their investors and employees; several continue in operation; two public companies; and one that sought Chapter 11 protection prior to acquisition.
Previously, Mr. Lovenheim was a partner of the law firm Harris Beach PLLC from 1979-2002 where he concentrated on corporate legal issues of entrepreneurial technology firms; and from 1967-1978 he served as chief of staff for U.S. Congressman Frank J. Horton and served simultaneously in several Congressional Committee staff leadership positions.
He earned a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Brown University and his J.D. from George Washington University law school.
