Sr. Principal Software Engineer at Vitara Biomedical

Kenneth Botelho has over 30 years of experience in software engineering. In 1989, they began their career as a Senior Software Engineer at Microcom Inc., where they developed a dial-in LAN access server quad modem interface including an API and a dual-ported RAM based multiprocessor data-pump. In 1994, they became a Senior Technical Advisor at Sync Research Inc., where they were the Team Leader/Manager of Frame Relay Probe (FRAP) and WAN HUB development. In 1999, they moved to Coriolis Networks as a Principal Software Engineer, where they developed an optical switch for the metropolitan area, an I/O module network processor firmware, and a system timing component. In 2004, they joined GE as a Principal Software Engineer, where they were the technical lead for the packet processing team. In 2012, they moved to EMC as a Principal Software Engineer, where they developed a PMC Tachyon SAS controller based encryption driver/utility, a hardware error monitoring driver, and a multi-client/multi-channel PCIe driver. In 2014, they joined Western Digital as a Technologist, where they developed firmware for NVMe and SAS based SSD products. In 2019, they moved to Ximedica | Now a Part of Veranex as a Principal Software Engineer, where they were the software architect and lead developer for a next generation life-saving medical device equipment. Currently, they are a Senior Principal Software Engineer at Vitara Biomedical, where they are leading the development of a life support system, and a Software Technical Lead at Corin Group, where they are developing a next-generation robotic knee replacement system.

Kenneth Botelho attended Bridgewater State University from 1980 to 1984, where they received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science & Physics (BSCS). In 1986, they continued their education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, taking graduate courses in Computer Science and Networking.
