Pablo Pelegrin has extensive experience in scientific research and investigation. Pablo currently works as a Scientific Researcher at the Universidad de Murcia since January 2021. In addition, they are a Co-Founder of Viva In Vitro since September 2021.
Prior to their current roles, Pelegrin held various positions related to research and investigation. From 2009 to 2021, they worked as a Principal Investigator at the Instituto Murciano de Investigación Biosanitaria (IMIB) and the Fundación para la Formación e Investigación Sanitarias de la Región de Murcia.
From 2009 to 2021, Pelegrin was also a Group Leader at the Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca, where they conducted research in the inflammatory field, focusing on the signals controlling the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines.
Pelegrin has also served as the Editor of the Inflammasome Journal at De Gruyter from December 2012 to December 2017. This journal was dedicated to the activation and regulation of inflammasomes and related topics.
Before that, Pelegrin worked as an Honorific Lecturer at the University of Manchester, where they supervised a PhD student and managed a collaborative research grant. Pablo also held a Postdoc position at the University of Manchester from 2006 to 2009.
Prior to joining the University of Manchester, Pelegrin worked as a Postdoc at the University of Sheffield from 2003 to 2006.
Throughout their career, Pelegrin has utilized a wide range of cellular and molecular biology techniques in their research.
Pablo Pelegrin has a strong educational background in the field of immunology. Pablo began their academic journey in 1983 at Colegio Camilo Jose Cela, where they completed their Basic General Education from 1983 to 1991. Pablo then pursued further studies at IES Josep Sureda i Blanes, where they obtained their GCE Advanced Level degree from 1991 to 1995. Building on their passion for biology, Pablo attended Universidad de Murcia from 1995 to 1999, where they earned their BSc degree in Biology. Continuing their pursuit of knowledge in immunology, they enrolled in Universidad de Murcia in 1999 to specialize in the field, completing an MPhil in Developmental Immunology within the same year. Further advancing their expertise, Pablo pursued a PhD in Immunology at the University of Murcia from 1999 to 2003, consolidating their academic training in this specific area of study.
