Computer Vision Engineer at Vivacity Labs

Alessandro Melis has worked in various roles since 2014. In 2014, they worked as a Research Assistant for Devices for Dignity Ltd. From 2017 to 2018, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Insigneo Institute for in silico medicine. In 2018, they became a Computer Vision Engineer at VivaCity, where they worked on making cities smarter, safer and more sustainable.

Alessandro Melis has a diverse educational background, beginning with a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Sapienza Università di Roma, which they obtained from 2006 to 2011. Alessandro then obtained an MSc in Computational Intelligence from The University of Sheffield from 2011 to 2012, followed by an MSc in Space System Engineering from the University of Southampton from 2012 to 2013. Alessandro then went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Haemodynamics and Machine Learning from The University of Sheffield from 2013 to 2017. In 2016 and 2017, they obtained a Nanodegree from Udacity in Self-Driving Car. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including C++ from Udacity in 2017, Seeing Through Photographs from Coursera Course Certificates in 2016, and multiple certificates from DeepLearning.AI in 2021 and 2020.
