David Green

David Green has a diverse and extensive work experience. David is currently working as a Principal Software Developer at VividCloud since February 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Siemens PLM Software as a Senior Devops Engineer from June 2017 to February 2021. In this role, they focused on automating developer workflows and migrating processes to public cloud implementations. David designed and implemented a Django-based self-service application to automate the allocation of developer workstations and developed a serverless microservice for on-demand provisioning of HPC clusters.

Before joining Siemens, David was a Senior Programmer/Analyst III at Dartmouth College from March 2012 to June 2017. David was responsible for maintaining and extending the technical publishing infrastructure for ElementaScience.org, an open-access journal system. David'sresponsibilities included server administration, Ruby/Rails development, and collaborating with remote developers. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Programmer/Analyst III at ElementaScience from July 2013 to January 2017, where they rebuilt the publishing stack for the organization using Ruby/Rails and AWS cloud infrastructure.

Prior to Dartmouth, David worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Norwich University Applied Research Institutes (NUARI) from an unknown start date to March 2012. In this role, they developed a multi-player turn-based game with a simulation of stock market IT infrastructure. David designed and implemented the persistence layer, client/server protocol, and market simulation engine using Java/Tomcat/MySQL/Linux. This software was used for the Quantum Dawn security exercise in November 2011.

David Green attended Dartmouth College from 1986 to 1989 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science. David also obtained several certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS) including AWS Certified Developer - Associate, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect - Associate, Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect - Professional, and Amazon Web Services DevOps Engineer - Professional. The certifications were obtained between the years 2021 and 2023.
