Brian Cook

VP & Head, Early Discovery Chemistry at Vividion Therapeutics

Brian Cook joined Vividion in 2017 and is currently Vice President of Early Discovery Chemistry at Vividion. In this role, he oversees library build, early chemistry optimization and lead finding efforts across the portfolio. In addition, he is responsible for computational chemistry and compound management. Prior to this role, Brian took on increasing responsibility in the chemistry department, including serving as the chemistry lead for one of the first programs at Vividion and taking that project from initial screening hit to development candidate. He contributed to library design and introduced cheminformatic approaches to guide screening deck selection and library analysis.

Prior to joining Vividion, Brian led medicinal chemistry teams at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals for 15 years. During those years, his teams delivered multiple candidate compounds into clinical development. Brian received his BA in Chemistry from Carleton College and his PhD from the University of California at Berkeley. He is an inventor on 17 issued patents and has authored or co-authored 16 scientific papers.
