Justin Spencer

Justin Spencer is the current Chief Financial Officer at Vocera Communications. Prior to their current position, they held the position of EVP, Chief Financial Officer at the same company from August 2014 to June 2021. Before their time at Vocera Communications, Justin Spencer worked closely with the CEO and Board of Directors at Covad where they consummated the sale of the company in 2008 to Platinum Equity, Inc. for $420 million in cash.

Spencer has extensive experience in financial, procurement, facilities, and corporate development functions. Justin sponsored investment in a newly acquired SaaS business to deliver voice services as a service (VoIP) which grew to produce $40 million in annual subscription-based revenue by 2007. As a publicly-held firm, Justin oversaw all Investor Relations activities including quarterly earnings calls, annual shareholder meetings and analyst days. Justin also managed relationships with research analysts and key institutional shareholders such as Fidelity Investments, Vanguard Group, Davis Selected Advisors and Royce & Associates.

Under their leadership, Justin defined and executed a restructuring plan that resulted in increasing annualized EBITDA from $16 million to $42 million within 6 months.

Justin Spencer has a BS in Accounting from the University of Utah - David Eccles School of Business and an MBA in Finance, Strategy and Operations from The Wharton School.
