Sergey Baranov

Sergey Baranov is an experienced system engineer specializing in hybrid and electric propulsion. Currently employed at VR-Technologies since June 2020, Sergey develops hybrid and full electric propulsion systems for helicopters, focusing on high power electric motors and batteries. As a lead system engineer at Volga-Dnepr Group since June 2018, Sergey is involved in the modernization of the Antonov An-124-100's electrical systems, and also works with the Boeing 747. Previously, from June 2011 to May 2018, Sergey served as the chief designer of the lighting direction at Aerospace Systems Design Bureau, managing the design process of aviation LED lighting systems. From May 2007 to June 2011, Sergey worked at Sukhoi Civil Aircraft as a lead system engineer, where responsibilities included the design, integration, and certification of electrical and lighting systems for the Sukhoi SSJ-100. Sergey holds a Master's degree in Aviation Control Systems from the Moscow Aviation Institute and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Moscow Aviation College named N.N. Godovikova.
