Julia Harms

Julia Harms has a diverse work experience that spans several industries. Julia began their career working at Toyworld New Zealand as a Customer Service representative from August 2015 to August 2017. Julia then transitioned to The University of Auckland, where they held multiple roles. From November 2017 to February 2018, Julia worked as a Summer Research Student, and from July 2017 to November 2018, they served as an Undergraduate Lab Demonstrator for various biology courses. Julia's main focus at the university was their Master's degree, during which they researched and characterized PDX and CLX models of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. Julia completed their Master's degree in March 2019. Following their postgraduate studies, Julia worked as a Research Technician/Lab Analyst at the Liggins Institute for a six-month contract from April 2019 to September 2019, where they primarily focused on cell culture. In October 2019, Julia returned to The University of Auckland as a Research Analyst/Technician, where they conducted research on hypoxia-activated prodrugs and developed organoid models of HNSCC. Julia ended their tenure at the university in June 2021. After leaving academia, Julia took on the role of Parrot Trainer at The Parrot Place from June 2021 to May 2022, where they cared for and trained exotic parrots while also managing the purchasing system and store operations. Julia's most recent experience is as a Database Analyst & Administrator at Ngati Hine Health Trust from April 2022 to March 2023, where they focused on database administration, data analysis, reporting, and improving data pipelines. Currently, Julia holds the position of Data & Insights Analyst at Volpara Health, starting in February 2023.

Julia Harms has a strong educational background in biomedical sciences. Julia completed their Master of Science degree with a focus on oncology at The University of Auckland from 2018 to 2019.
