Matthew Lawrence

Matthew Lawrence has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Matthew most recently worked at Voltyx as the Senior Vice President of Operations starting in January 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President/General Manager for the Central and NE US region at NASS USA from February 2020 to April 2023. From May 2018 to February 2020, they were the Senior Director at North American Substation Services.

Before that, Matthew worked at Doble Engineering Company in various positions including Senior Director, Solutions from October 2015 to April 2018; Solutions Director: Test & Assessment Technology from October 2013 to September 2015; and Solutions Manager from July 2011 to September 2013.

Matthew's earlier experience includes managing substation operations and maintenance services at National Grid as the Manager of Substation O&M Services from June 2009 to July 2011, and serving as the Coordinator of Substations from August 2002 to May 2009.

Starting their career at Narragansett Electric Company in 1984, Matthew worked as a Supervisor of Substations until 1997. In this role, they oversaw the construction, operations, and maintenance of transmission and distribution substations.

Matthew Lawrence attended the New England Institute of Technology from 1982 to 1984, where they pursued a degree in Electronics Technology and earned an ASEE. Matthew then went on to study at Worcester Polytechnic Institute from 2000 to 2002. During their time at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Matthew Lawrence focused on the School of Industrial Management, although they did not complete a specific degree program.
