Jessica M. Smith

Jessica M. Smith currently serves as a Support Desk Technician I in the Information Technology Division of the Finance Department at the County of Volusia since April 2024. Prior to this role, Jessica held various positions including Shift Lead at Duck Donuts and Researcher at the Florida Center for Reading Research. Experience also includes bartending at Serenity Culture Co., and several leadership roles within the Florida College Democrats, including Chief Financial Officer and Interim Deputy Chief Financial Officer. Jessica was Vice Chair of the Volusia County Democratic Party and worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Florida State University in the Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology. Earlier experience includes roles with the Florida Democratic Party and managing phonebank operations for the Richard Thripp Congressional Strategy Team. Jessica earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Humanities from Florida State University and graduated summa cum laude from Father Lopez Catholic High School.
