Ouways Abouanass

Ouways Abouanass has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Ouways started their career as a Warehouse Operative at Leroy Merlin France in 2015.

In 2016, they worked as a Computer Vision Engineer at Thales, where they evaluated the performance of classification algorithms for radar imagery and built Convolutional Neural Networks for image classification.

The following year, in 2017, they joined EDF Energy as a Research Engineer in the Renewables team. Ouways compared different LiDAR technologies for offshore wind turbines and evaluated their measurement uncertainties and operational uncertainties.

In 2018, Ouways Abouanass worked as a Data Scientist intern at PwC, where they clustered clients based on transactional behavior, detected fraudulent transactions, and forecasted retail demand.

From 2019 to 2022, they worked at Ekimetrics, starting as a Junior Data Scientist and progressing to the role of Confirmed Data Scientist. Ouways worked on projects involving pricing strategy, CRM strategy, and reinforcement learning-based product recommendation. Ouways developed methodologies, analyzed data, and provided recommendations to increase client turnover and margin.

Currently, Ouways Abouanass is a Senior Data Scientist at Voodoo, where they apply their expertise in data science to drive business growth and optimize processes.

Throughout their career, Ouways Abouanass has demonstrated strong programming skills in Python, R, and Matlab. Ouways is experienced in using various machine learning algorithms and techniques, as well as data preprocessing and feature engineering.

Ouways Abouanass began their education at Lycée Saint Jean-Baptiste de La Salle, where they completed their Baccalauréat scientifique, a French high-school degree with a Science major, between 2009 and 2012. Following this, they attended Lycée Janson de Sailly from 2012 to 2014, where they pursued a Higher School Preparatory Class (CPGE) in the PC* curriculum, focusing on Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, French/Philosophy, and English. It is worth noting that they did not receive a degree from this institution. Finally, Abouanass enrolled at CentraleSupélec from 2014 to 2018, obtaining a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Engineering.
