Robert McFarland, CPA has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Robert began their career in 2008 as a Wildfire Fighter with the British Columbia Forest Service. Subsequently, they worked as a Ticket Service Representative for the Vancouver Canadians Professional Baseball Club and as an Educator for lululemon athletica in 2011.
In 2012, Robert transitioned to the Toronto Blue Jays where they served in the role of Ticket Sales and Service. Robert then joined the Integra Gold Corp. in 2013 as a Core Technician.
Robert's accounting career started in 2014 when they became a Junior Accounting Associate at Bench Accounting. After that, they joined KPMG in 2015 as a Staff Accountant and later moved on to the role of Senior Accountant.
In 2018, Robert returned to the role of Financial Controller at VRIFY before transitioning to KIXEYE in 2019 as a Financial Controller.
Their most recent positions include Director of Finance, which they held at VRIFY from 2020 to 2022, and their current role as the Chief Financial Officer at VRIFY, starting in October 2022.
Throughout their career, Robert has gained extensive experience in finance and accounting roles, gradually progressing from entry-level positions to leadership roles.
Robert McFarland, CPA has a diverse education history. In 2005 to 2010, they attended the University of Victoria, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. In 2011, they pursued a Certificate in Sports Management at Sports Management Worldwide. In 2014 to 2015, they attended The University of British Columbia and earned a Diploma in Accounting (DAP) with a specialization in accounting. Lastly, from 2015 to 2017, they received their CPA designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada).
