John Nelson

John Nelson has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as CEO and Co-Founder at Vroom Delivery since 2016. Prior to that, they served as the President of ArborVita Associates, a biotechnology company, from 2011 to 2016. During their time at ArborVita Associates, the company gained recognition by securing the 2nd place in the Booth New Venture Challenge in 2012 and raising over $300,000 in funding.

Before their position at ArborVita Associates, John co-founded UniversityTutor.com in 2004, initially as a tutoring management company in Houston, TX. Over time, they expanded operations nationwide and transformed it into an online marketplace for tutors, growing the network to over 50,000 tutors worldwide. John'sinvolvement with UniversityTutor.com ended in 2014.

John also has experience as an Associate at Oakwood Global Finance from 2005 to 2010.

John Nelson completed their education with an MBA degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, attending from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Rice University, which they attended from 2001 to 2005. In addition to their formal education, John also obtained a certification in MIT Introduction to Biology from edX in September 2013.
