Alex Hodgson has a wealth of experience in the field of chemistry. Alex began their career in 2010 as a Freshman Chemistry Stockroom Manager at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Alex then served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, where they supervised laboratories for general chemistry I/II, led weekly recitation sections, and gave pre-lab lectures on information relevant to current lab. Alex also worked in the stockroom preparing chemicals and re-supplying labs in progress. In 2012, they moved on to become a Research Chemist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In 2016, they joined VUV Analytics, Inc. as an Applications Chemist and later became a Senior Applications Chemist and Applications Manager. In this role, their team developed applications for gas chromatography - vacuum ultraviolet spectroscopy (GC-VUV) across a variety of industries, and they also created technical marketing content, assisted customers both in the field and remotely, tested software, and qualified every instrument that left the facility. Alex has been invited to speak at conferences across the globe and has several peer-reviewed publications.
Alex Hodgson received a Master of Science (MS) in Biochemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2011, following a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin in 2008.
