Michael Francis has extensive work experience in the chemical industry. Michael currently holds the position of Director FCC Process Technology at W. R. Grace & Co. since 2017. Prior to this, they worked at Saint-Gobain from 2007, first as a Research Associate, responsible for product and process development, and later as R&D Manager, overseeing diversification programs, managing a customer sampling program, and coaching professionals and technicians. Michael also has previous experience at W. R. Grace and Co. as a Principal Engineer and Senior R&D Engineer, leading new product development efforts and providing technical support for automotive emission control and FCC catalysts.
Michael Francis attended the University of Maryland from 1988 to 2004, earning a BS in Chemical Engineering. Michael also pursued a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Maryland from 1994 to 1999.
