Sebastiaan Grosscurt is currently a PhD Candidate in Sensory Ecology at Leiden University, having begun this role in January 2024. In parallel, Grosscurt works as a freelance natuurjournalist, schrijver en moderator for Buitenruis and serves as a vrijwillig natuurgids for Waddenvereniging since June 2021. Previous experience includes a research internship at the South Rift Association of Land Owners (SORALO) focused on the space-use of African lions, a role as an editorial intern at Trouw, and active participation in a working group on biodiversity and food with NJR. Grosscurt's teaching experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant at Leiden University College The Hague, conducting courses related to environmental science and sustainable livelihoods. Prior roles also include policy work at the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, and student assistant positions at Leiden University College. Grosscurt holds an MSc in Forest and Nature Conservation from Wageningen University & Research and a BSc in Earth, Energy, and Sustainability from Leiden University College The Hague.
