Stijn Verdenius

Stijn Verdenius is a Lead Deep Learning Research Engineer at WAIR - Retail Geeks since November 2022, leading the development of technical vision and machine learning strategy for the team, while ensuring product delivery and stakeholder communication. Previously, Stijn served as Tech Lead and Machine Learning Lead at BrainCreators from November 2019 to October 2022, focusing on technical vision creation, task delegation, team development, and machine learning model implementation. Stijn has also worked as a Machine Learning Engineer and Research Assistant, contributing to the AI-for-retail team and conducting research on Model Compression. Additional experience includes a freelance role as a Software Engineer at BiteStreams and a Java Software Developer position at Omnimap, where Stijn was involved in enterprise application development and API integration. Stijn holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Amsterdam and has a background in Architecture and Construction Engineering.
