Mark Owens

Mark Owens has a diverse and extensive work experience. Mark most recently worked as a Design Director at the Walker Art Center starting in October 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Principal at Life of the Mind since January 2006. Mark has also worked as a Visiting Critic in MFA Graphic Design at Yale University starting in January 2014 and as a Visiting Faculty at the University of Pennsylvania's PennDesign from January 2015 to May 2022. From 2007 to 2013, they served as a Visiting Faculty in Graphic Design at the California Institute of the Arts. Mark has also worked as an Art Director and Designer at Brand New School from 2006 to 2008, an Art Director at Viacom's MTV Networks from September 2002 to December 2005, and as an Art Director and Designer at Generic Costume from March 2001 to September 2002. Mark started their career as a Senior Designer at Flat Inc from July 2000 to December 2000.

Mark Owens has a Master of Fine Arts - MFA degree in Graphic Design from Yale University, which they obtained in 2000. Mark also has a Master of Arts - MA degree in English from Duke University, which they achieved in 1998.
