Kristen Coffeen-Smith

Kristen Coffeen-Smith, DSW, MSW, LICSW, NCAC II, currently serves as the Field Director and Contract Instructor at Walla Walla University, where responsibilities include overseeing field placements and teaching in the Department of Social Work & Sociology. Kristen also holds the role of Doctor of Social Work student and teaching assistant. Concurrently, Kristen has extensive experience in the fishing industry as a Commercial Fishing Deckhand with Lucky C Company since 1999. From 2015 to 2020, Kristen worked as a Recovery Counselor & Ally at Trilogy Recovery Community, implementing Project SUCCESS in Walla Walla High School and developing a co-occurring counseling program. Previous roles include Client Services Manager at Helpline and Bilingual Para-Educator at Walla Walla Public Schools. Kristen's education comprises a Doctorate in Social Work and a Master’s in Social Work, alongside a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Spanish.
