Ben Cheplak

As a Principal and structural design manager for Walter P Moore’s Atlanta office, Ben guides the design approaches to the most important projects, ensuring that the clients benefit from the best practices in developing design solutions, optimizing efficiency through digital workflow, and creating practical, well-detailed structures. Ben has designed many structures for sports, healthcare, aviation, cultural, and hospitality sectors. He specializes in seismic steel detailing, parametric modeling, and Tekla BIM models. He enjoys collaborating with talented architects, helping them realize their design vision within the context of budgetary and schedule realities.

Ben enjoys teaching younger engineers the finer points of structural design and he conducts a firm-wide Best Design Practices seminar series to ensure that the lessons learned on every project are distributed throughout the company.
