Summer Abdoh has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Summer began their career as a Student and Administrative Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they worked from 2006 to 2011. During this time, they also served as a Graduate Assistant at DePaul University from 2016 to 2017.
In 2011, Summer had various internships, including being a Digital Media Intern at Discovery Communications, a Sourcewatch Intern and Reporter at the Center for Media and Democracy, and a Contractor at the US Postal Inspection Service.
From 2012 to 2013, they worked as an Evaluation Coordinator and English Corps Member at Chicago Vocational Career Academy through City Year.
Following these experiences, Summer became a Communications Manager at Be Strong Families from 2013 to 2017. Summer then joined Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, where they served as an Orise Fellow from 2017 to 2020 and is currently working as a Team Lead and Strategic Communications Director starting from 2020.

Summer Abdoh received their High School Degree in General Studies from Nicholas Senn High School in 2006. From 2006 to 2011, they attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where they pursued a degree in Journalism and Political Science, with a focus on Digital Media, Arabic, and Politics. In 2008, they also participated in a non-degree program at The American University in Cairo, studying Political Science and Journalism. In 2015, Summer enrolled at DePaul University and completed a Master's Degree in Digital Communication and Media/Multimedia in 2017.
