Heather Drew Metallides has a diverse background in the healthcare and education sectors. Heather began their career as an EKG/Holter Monitor Technician at Waltham Hospital from 1995 to 1999. From 1998 to 2000, they worked as a Respiratory Care Practitioner at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Following that, they served as a Respiratory Care Practitioner at Deaconess Waltham Hospital from 1999 to 2003. In 2000, they started working as a Health/Science Educator at Waltham Public Schools, and later became the Director of Science and Health in 2012. Recently, they have taken on the role of Director of Physical Education, Health, and Wellness at Waltham Public Schools since July 2020. Throughout their career, Heather has shown a strong commitment to educational leadership and the development of comprehensive health and science programs.
Heather Drew Metallides has a Master's degree in Education from Cambridge College, which they obtained in 2002. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Cardiopulmonary Science/Respiratory Therapy at Northeastern University from 1995 to 1999. Heather also earned a BS in Cardiopulmonary Science/Respiratory care from the same university during the same time period, specializing in Science and Health.
