Catherine Florek

Catherine Florek is an accomplished Risk Advisory Manager at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) since November 2021, where significant contributions include developing and executing a comprehensive risk, internal control, and compliance strategy, as well as implementing an Enterprise Risk Management program. Prior experience includes serving as Assistant Director of Institutional Compliance and Senior Institutional Compliance Officer at Rutgers University, leading a team focused on ADA, Title IX, and healthcare compliance. Catherine also held the role of Auditor in Charge at the NJ Office of the State Comptroller, directing performance audits, and has experience in internal auditing with Toys R Us and Stop & Shop, focusing on risk assessments and compliance evaluations. Catherine holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Baltimore, a Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland, and a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement from Towson University.
