Mark Irvine has a diverse work experience across various organizations. Mark has served as the Director of Strategy and Policy at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), where they led a team focused on driving change and improving operational effectiveness. Prior to this role, they worked as the Manager of Systems and Capital Planning at WMATA. Mark also served as the Acting Director of Capital Financial Reporting and Senior Performance Analyst at the organization.
Before joining WMATA, Mark worked as a Project Lead Consultant at TechnoServe and as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company. At McKinsey, they served clients in the public and private sectors, managing client engagements and delivering solutions for organizational challenges. Mark also gained experience as a Graduate Intern at The Brookings Institution and as a Summer Associate at both McKinsey & Company and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP.
Mark's career began as a Research Assistant at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, where they co-authored a publication on Congress and U.S. efforts to strengthen fragile states.
Mark Irvine attended Boston College from 2002 to 2006, where they obtained a BA in International Studies & Economics. Mark later studied at Duke University School of Law from 2009 to 2012, earning a JD degree.
