Zhaokang Cheng

Zhaokang Cheng is an Associate Professor at Washington State University Spokane since June 2016, with a focus on the regulation of cell death and survival in the heart. Prior roles include Assistant Professor at the same institution and Research Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where Zhaokang Cheng also studied the regulation of cell death and survival in the heart. Initial academic training includes a position as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, investigating the role of focal adhesion kinase in cardiovascular development and pathophysiology, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow, exploring novel mediators of cardiomyocyte death in ischemic heart disease at San Diego State University. Zhaokang Cheng earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science, both from Nankai University.
