Safeguarding at WaterAid

Idowu Adebayo has a diverse range of work experience. From 2019 onwards, they have been working at WaterAid as a Project Manager, where they have demonstrated their abilities in delivering timely and efficient results. Some notable achievements include leading the development of a WASH sector policy in Oyo State, implementing a Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Framework in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States, and successfully implementing a donor-funded hygiene project in Oyo, Kaduna, and Plateau State. Idowu has also facilitated the launch of the Clean Family Campaign and provided hygiene packs to mapped households.

Prior to their role at WaterAid, Idowu worked at the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) from 2014 to 2022 as a Compliance and Enforcement Officer. In this position, they assisted in identifying risks and ensuring compliance with regulations in public and private Free Trade Zones and Enterprises. Idowu conducted research on laws and procedures, negotiated settlements, and performed administrative tasks within the department.

Before NEPZA, Idowu worked at Jummai Aduda Organization in 2013 as a Programs Administrative Officer. In this role, they effectively coordinated and supervised support for outreach events, communicated project objectives, and organized operational efforts.

Overall, Idowu Adebayo has showcased their skills in project management, compliance and enforcement, and administrative coordination throughout their work experience.

Idowu Adebayo completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Abuja from 2008 to 2011. In addition, Idowu obtained certifications in Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, as well as Strategic Planning Foundations from LinkedIn in March 2021. Furthermore, Idowu participated in a training program on SEZ diagnostics, Site Assessment, and Benchmarking organized by the World Bank in the field of International Business/Trade/Commerce.
