Richard Waiwai

Richie Waiwai serves as the Chief of Māori Strategy and Relationship at Watercare Services Limited since March 2018, also holding the position of Principal Advisor for Tikanga Māori. In 2022, Richie contributed as a Strategic Manager for Iwi Engagement in the Three Waters Reform, focusing on affordable water services. As Director of Te Hautapu Consultants Limited from 2013 to 2023, Richie worked on enhancing and supporting Iwi initiatives. Prior experience includes roles at the Department of Conservation, with responsibilities in mediation and cultural education from 2009 to 2013, and research and title management at the Maori Land Court in Rotorua from 1990 to 2000. Richie's educational background includes studies at Lindisfarne College, achieving a notable degree completion.
