Darren McKnight

Darren McKnight is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in benefits administration and management within various organizations. Currently serving as General Manager at the Waterfront Employers of BC since October 2019, Darren oversees the administration of pension and benefits for approximately 6,000 unionized longshore workers and foremen in British Columbia. Previously, as Director of Benefit Management, Policy Development and Planning at the First Nations Health Authority from August 2015 to September 2019, Darren led significant health benefits transformation projects, including partnerships with the BC Ministry of Health and Pacific Blue Cross. Prior roles at the Healthcare Benefit Trust, from 2005 to July 2015, included Director of Benefits Administration & Reporting and Group Benefits Manager, where Darren was responsible for overseeing multi-employer health benefits for 75,000 employees. Educational qualifications include an MBA in Strategic Management from The University of British Columbia and additional studies in finance and strategy at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business), along with a B.Sc. in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University.
