Mariana Portal Carús

Mariana Portal Carús has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Mariana'smost recent position is as the Water Advisors Lead at Waterplan (YC S21), a role they began in February 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Consultant for the Global Commission on the Economics of Water at OECD - OCDE, where they managed projects and provided technical support from November 2022 to March 2023. Additionally, Mariana had a summer internship at Impax Asset Management in 2022. Mariana has also demonstrated leadership and entrepreneurial skills as the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Pakaraima A.C., a nonprofit organization focused on promoting sustainability through events and activities. From 2019 to 2020, they served as a Project Coordinator at ERM: Environmental Resources Management, and from 2017 to 2019, they worked as a Project Consultant at the same company. Mariana's work experience also includes a brief stint as a Project Leader at Mexico City Urban Services in 2016.

Mariana Portal Carús has a diverse education history that spans various fields of study. In 2013, they enrolled at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where they pursued a Bachelor's of Science degree in Sustainable Development Engineering, specializing in Environmental Studies. Mariana successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2017.

In 2020, Mariana embarked on their postgraduate education at the University of Oxford. Mariana pursued a Master of Science degree in Water Science, Policy, and Management, completing their studies in 2021. Following their MS program, Mariana joined Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management. Mariana'sMBA program started in 2021 and is expected to conclude in 2022.

In addition to their academic pursuits, Mariana obtained a certification from SAP as a Certified Application Associate in Financial Accounting with ERP 6.0 EhP6 in April 2016.
