Michael Steffen

Michael Steffen has a diverse and impressive work experience. Michael is currently working as the Head of Climate Analytics at Watershed, a software platform focused on fighting climate change. In their previous role at Meta (formerly Facebook), they served as the GM & Product Lead for Connectivity Analytics, leading a large cross-functional team and significantly expanding the program's impact. Michael also founded the Connectivity Data Platform team and served as a Product Manager for Measurement, where they developed measurement methods and strategies to guide investments in mobile connectivity. Prior to that, they worked at Mapbox as the Vice President of Data, overseeing various teams and partnerships to deliver high-quality map data. Michael also held the role of General Counsel at Mapbox, building the legal team and handling various legal matters. Before joining the private sector, Michael worked at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), where they served as the Director of Digital Learning and as a Wireline Advisor to the Chairman, among other roles. Michael also has experience as a Law Clerk at the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals and in advocacy positions focused on global access to medicines. Overall, Michael Steffen has a strong background in technology, data analytics, climate change, and legal affairs.
