Justin Garofoli

Justin Garofoli, PhD, is a Senior Software Engineer at Waymo since April 2021, bringing extensive experience in software and hardware integration from previous roles. At Loon, Justin held positions as Senior Software Engineer and Senior Hardware Test Engineer, leading projects that involved updating balloon simulation systems and developing continuous validation tools. Prior experience includes engineering support at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, graduate research at Syracuse University, and operational coordination at LIGO-WA. Justin earned a PhD in Experimental High Energy Particle Physics from Syracuse University and a B.S. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics from Western Washington University.
