Silvius Rus

Silvius Rus has a strong background in software engineering and management, with extensive experience at companies like Google, Cloudera, and Quantcast. Their most recent position was as VP Software at Wayve starting in 2023. Prior to that, they served as an Engineering Director at Google from 2017 to 2022, where they were responsible for the lower software stack and product development for various Google services. Silvius also held the role of Director of Engineering at Cloudera from 2014 to 2017, where they managed the Impala development team and achieved strong growth for enterprise customers. At Quantcast from 2011 to 2014, they were Director of Engineering and played a key role in developing and maintaining a full big data software stack. Silvius began their career at Google in 2006 as a Software Engineer, where they developed performance tools and improved the production performance of various Google services.

Silvius Rus holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M University. In addition, they have also obtained the certification of Duolingo Spanish Fluency: Advanced (Estimated) from Duolingo in September 2016.
