Natalie Chavez is a Staff Architect I at WDP & Associates Consulting Engineers, Inc. since June 2022, where expertise is applied in addressing issues within existing structures. Previously, Natalie served as a Graduate Assistant in the Historic Preservation Department at the University of Virginia from January 2021 to June 2022, managing the digital revitalization of the Historic Preservation certificate program and integrating point cloud data into 3D datasets. Other notable roles include being the Sara Shallenberger Brown Fellow, which involved creating a growth plan and managing communications, and working as a 3D Cultural Heritage Informatics Intern focusing on the preservation of Jeffersonian cultural heritage. Prior internships included a Summer Archaeology Internship at the Thomas Jefferson Foundation and a Summer Intern position at the Historic Fredericksburg Foundation, where contributions included drafting construction documents and enhancing social media presence. Natalie holds an M. Architectural History from the University of Virginia and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture degree at Virginia Tech.
