Michael Showell has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the design industry. Michael is currently working as an Associate Director of Interaction Design at Kettle since August 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Interactive Experience Designer at onXmaps, Inc. from January 2021 to August 2022.
From 2018 to 2020, Michael worked as a Senior Digital Designer and Team Lead at Filter, A Merkle Company, supporting the Global Football Brand Design team in digital executions and coordination with digital design teams for new features and processes.
Before that, they had a significant tenure at Nike, where they held multiple positions including Experience Designer, Senior Designer, and Freelance Senior Designer, focusing on digital brand design and innovation from 2014 to 2018.
Michael also gained valuable experience as a Senior Brand Designer at Cinco Design Office, focusing on interactive and digital brand development for various clients such as Microsoft, Nike, and Intel from 2012 to 2014.
Michael started their career as an Art Director and Designer at Razorfish from 2007 to 2012, and prior to that, they worked as a Contract Graphic Designer at The Felt Hat from 2005 to 2007.
Michael's professional journey began as a Communications Department Intern at Pacific Northwest College of Art from 2004 to 2005, where they gained experience in creating and producing publications and event announcements.
Michael Showell attended Purdue University from 1998 to 2002, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Photography and Psychology. From 2004 to 2007, they attended the Pacific Northwest College of Art and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Design.
