Shruti Saxena

Shruti Saxena, Ph.D. has extensive experience in the field of biomaterials and tissue engineering. SHRUTI is currently working as the Research and Development Group Lead at PDI since February 2023. Previously, they served as a Senior Scientist at Collagen Matrix, Inc. from August 2019 to February 2023. Before that, they worked as a Research Scientist (NIH-T32 Postdoctoral Research Fellow) at the New Jersey Center for Biomaterials, Rutgers University–New Brunswick from June 2017 to July 2019.

Dr. Saxena also has international experience, having worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Udine, Italy from January 2014 to March 2016. SHRUTI also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy from May 2012 to May 2013. In addition, they served as a Visiting Research Fellow at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain in various periods, during which they investigated the biocompatibility of 3D scaffolds for bone tissue engineering.

Furthermore, Dr. Saxena has academic research experience as a Doctoral Fellow at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy from January 2009 to March 2012. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology, where they taught molecular biology techniques and organized workshops on laboratory techniques.

Shruti Saxena, Ph.D., pursued their education in a chronological order. SHRUTI earned their Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from Allahabad Agricultural Institute in India, from 2001 to 2005. Following this, they completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Bioinformatics at the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology in India, from 2005 to 2007. Finally, they obtained their Ph.D. in Material & Life Sciences from the Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia in Italy, from 2009 to 2012.
