Manolis Nikiforakis has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. In 2021, they co-founded WeatherXM and serves as the CEO. Prior to that, in 2015, they co-founded Ex Machina, an IIoT solutions company focused on predictive analytics for weather-sensitive industries. At Ex Machina, they were the CEO and worked towards building a world where weather-related technologies have a positive impact on people's lives and the environment.

From 2017 to 2019, Manolis worked as an IoT Consultant at Protium.digital, a global network of independent IoT strategy and business development consultants. Manolis helped companies optimize their operations and develop new services using the Internet of Things.

Before that, from 2013 to 2017, Manolis was the co-founder and CTO at Plegma Labs. Manolis led the Horizon2020 ChArGED project and coordinated technical aspects of the IoT integration platform provided by Plegma Labs.

In 2013, they also worked as an ICT Architect at TELINT RTD Consultancy Services Ltd, where they developed a GIS-UxV monitoring solution for the DARIUS project funded by the EU. The project aimed to provide unmanned platforms for search and rescue operations.

Earlier in their career, Manolis served as a researcher and lead developer at NCSR "DEMOKRITOS" from 2010 to 2012. Manolis contributed to the OPTI-TRANS project and developed a spin-off mobile app called OptiTrans, among other projects in airport security and maritime surveillance.

From 2007 to 2009, Manolis worked as a business analyst and lead developer at Profile S.A, where they contributed to integrated information systems for employers, employees, and the public train ticketing system.

At Steficon S.A. from 2005 to 2007, Manolis served as an IT Manager and lead developer. Manolis managed and developed various dynamic websites with custom content management systems for clients in different industries.

Manolis started their career in 2004 as a computer programmer and analyst in the Research and Informatics Division of the Hellenic Army, where they supported military computerized distributed applications and was part of the development team for the national C4I system.

In 2002, they worked as a technical manager at European Dynamics, contributing to projects like EURES2G and e-Europe, developing modular distributed systems and web content management suites for European initiatives.

Overall, Manolis Nikiforakis has a solid background in IoT, IIoT, project management, and software development, with a focus on leveraging technology to improve industries and people's lives.

Manolis Nikiforakis completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Multimedia Communications - Computer Engineering from Bournemouth University in the years 1997 to 2000. Later, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Internet Computing from Queen Mary University of London from 2000 to 2001.
