Umut Eser

Umut Eser has a diverse background in the fields of technology, innovation, and scientific research. Umut is currently working as the CTO and Cofounder at Weave since July 2022. Prior to this role, Umut held the position of Venture Partner at Magnetic Ventures starting in September 2021. Umut also served as the Chief Innovation Officer at Doctor Evidence, LLC from April 2021 to July 2022.

Umut has extensive experience as a scientific advisor, having worked at Harbinger Health from December 2020 to April 2022, at Kernal Biologics, Inc. from August 2018 to April 2022, and at Nerai from August 2019 to December 2021. In these roles, they provided expertise and guidance in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in scientific research.

Umut Eser completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Advanced Physics at Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University from 2002 to 2006. Following this, from 2006 to 2013, Eser pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics at Stanford University. Finally, from 2013 to 2017, Eser attended Harvard Medical School as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Genetics and Computational Biology.
