Vel Wu

Vel (Tien-Yun) Wu is a Senior Data Engineer at WebComm Technology since April 2024, with extensive experience in data engineering. Previously, Vel worked at Groundhog Technologies Inc. as a Data Engineer from July 2021 to February 2024, where responsibilities included building and maintaining data pipelines using Scala Spark and Hadoop, managing cron jobs, and performing ETL operations. A graduate of the iSchool at Illinois with a Master of Science in Information Management, Vel has also held positions at the University of Illinois, Lisco Global, and National Taiwan University, gaining expertise in data management, software engineering, and project management. Relevant skills include the use of Apache Airflow, Hive, Kafka, Java, and AWS.
