Senior Manager, Media Relations (technology) at Weber Shandwick

Franziska Kast has extensive experience in media relations, event management, and PR. Franziska currently works at Weber Shandwick as a Senior Manager, focusing on media relations in the technology sector. Prior to that, they worked as a Manager of Media Relations at the same company.

In addition to their corporate experience, Franziska co-founded Irish Culture Events in 2016, where they served as the PR and Event Manager. Franziska and their business partner developed the company from an event calendar into an artist, event, and PR agency. They also created and produced the concert series "The Roseville Sessions" with funding from the Embassy of Ireland and Culture Ireland. Franziska was invited to represent Irish-German Berlin at the Irish Visitors' Programme_Young Leaders hosted by the Federal Foreign Office and the European Academy, Berlin.

Before Irish Culture Events, Franziska founded via polaris in 2008, a company inspired by Polaris, the North Star, known for its unwavering position in the sky. At via polaris, they provided guidance and orientation to travelers.

Additionally, Franziska worked as an Event Manager at DB Station & Service AG, where they developed the Cube Live concert & culture series for Deutsche Bahn AG's Places/SmartCity concept. Franziska was responsible for organizing events and workshops and managing a budget. This concept is being expanded to other stations in Germany.

Franziska also gained experience as a PR and Event Manager at Verlag Fuchsbriefe, a publishing company focused on the economy and financial markets. Their role involved organizing events and implementing a media database and seminar format for the company's Academy.

Furthermore, Franziska has worked as a Lecturer at Kulturwirtschaftsakademie in 2015 and as a Festival Coordinator at Umeå International Film Festival in Sweden from 2006 to 2007. At the film festival, they formed partnerships with local cultural initiatives and secured sponsorship and funding through successful applications.

Franziska Kast's education history began in 2000 when they enrolled at the University of Potsdam. Franziska pursued a Master of Arts degree in English and American Studies, as well as History, a course of study that lasted until 2007. During this time, from 2001 to 2007, Franziska also attended the Freie Universität Berlin, where they earned another Master of Arts degree, this one specializing in Film Studies. In 2007, they briefly attended Umeå University, obtaining a certificate in Graphic Design. In addition to their formal education, Franziska obtained a certification in "Technological Disruption: Managing the Impact on Business, Society and Politics" from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in July 2023.
