Helen Palmer has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Helen began their career at Thomson Reuters in 1994 as a Producer for Africa Journal in Nairobi. Helen then worked at Channel One News in 1998 as a Producer/Director until December 1999. In 2000, Palmer joined Oxfam as a Senior Press Officer/Press Officer and later became a Global Media Officer from 2004 to 2008. In 2009, they moved to ONE and served as a Media Relations Director for Europe until June 2010. Palmer then joined Weber Shandwick as a Media Director, specializing in social impact. Most recently, in 2019, they became a Trustee at the International Broadcasting Trust.
Helen Palmer pursued their undergraduate studies from 1986 to 1989 at the University of Cambridge, where they earned a degree in History with a focus on International Relations. Helen then furthered their education at the University of Wales College of Cardiff from 1990 to 1991, enrolling in a Journalism postgraduate program to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of Journalism.
