Kevin Merritt

Kevin Merritt, CFA has a diverse work experience. Kevin is currently serving as the Director of Research and Managing Director at Wedbush Securities since June 2019. Prior to that, they worked at Aptigon Capital, a Citadel Company, as the Deputy Director of Research from July 2016 to August 2018. During their time at Aptigon Capital, they conducted team and portfolio analysis, oversaw candidate diligence, organized staff training programs, and mentored young investment professionals. Before that, they were the Managing Director and Partner at Sterling Ridge Capital Management from January 2015 to July 2016. Kevin also worked as a Technology Investor at Sandler Capital Management from December 2012 to January 2015. Kevin Merritt started their career at Plural Investments, LLC as the Managing Director, Portfolio Manager, and Technology Sector Head from September 2010 to October 2012. Prior to that, they worked as an Investment Manager at Citadel Investment Group from March 2008 to June 2010. Kevin also worked as an Analyst at SAC Capital from November 2004 to February 2008, at Fiduciary Trust from April 2002 to October 2004, and at Piper Jaffray from December 1999 to March 2002. Kevin Merritt began their professional career as a Volunteer at Peace Corps from 1996 to 1998.

Kevin Merritt, CFA has a strong educational background in finance and international finance. Kevin obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) with a focus on Finance from RPI, where they attended from 1991 to 1995. Additionally, they pursued further education at INSEAD, completing an MBA program in International Finance from 1998 to 1999.

In addition to their formal education, Kevin Merritt has also obtained several certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. Kevin successfully completed the Series 24, Series 86, and Series 87 certifications from FINRA in November 2020, August 2020, and October 2019, respectively. In September 2019, they acquired the SIE certification also from FINRA. Furthermore, they hold the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, with eligibility number 162977.
