Ben Wanicur

Ben Wanicur has a diverse work experience in software engineering and web development. Their most recent role was as a Senior Software Engineer at Weedmaps since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at WeaveUp from March 2021 to September 2021.

From May 2014 to June 2019, Ben worked as a Web Development Consultant at Middle Path Development, where they provided technical guidance to clients, managed agile-style teams, and refactored software applications using Ruby as the backend technology.

Ben also had contract roles as a Software Engineering Contractor at TRIBUS in January 2019 and as a Web Developer Contractor at Fite Luxury in October 2018.

Earlier in their career, Ben worked on a massive refactoring project for an enterprise Ruby on Rails application as a Web Developer Consultant at Deluxe Entertainment Services Group from January 2016 to August 2017. Ben was able to successfully help the company hire a junior developer to maintain the application after the refactoring.

Before that, they were a Web Developer Consultant at TradeBuddy from January 2015 to October 2015, where they refactored and developed AngularJS web applications and worked on Ruby on Rails API and mobile applications.

Ben started their career as a Software Developer at Coupa Software from November 2013 to May 2014 and as a Software Engineer Consultant at iParq from December 2012 to July 2013.

Ben Wanicur began their education at Winston Churchill High School, where they attended from 1988 to 1992. Ben then pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Music Performance with a specialization in Bass at William Paterson University of New Jersey. Ben studied there from 1994 to 1996. In 2006, Ben enrolled at City College of San Francisco, focusing on Computer Science and LAMP development. Ben completed their studies in 2008. Additionally, in June 2020, they obtained certification in Learning the OWASP Top 10 from LinkedIn.
