Karin Nord

Karin Nord has a rich and diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Karin is currently serving as the Vice President of Design at Weedmaps, where they are responsible for overseeing product design, UX research, brand creative, and studio teams in the cannabis tech sector. Prior to this role, they were the Director of Design at Weedmaps, where they tripled the team size in a short period of time while establishing an inclusive culture and efficient design process. Before joining Weedmaps, Karin worked as the Design Lead at TextNow, where they played a key role in conceptualizing and designing user experiences for the communications app on iOS, Android, and Web platforms. Karin also worked as the Director of Design at Now//with, where they focused on product design strategy and marketing deliverables for a startup company in the celebrity shoppable video industry. Karin has also held positions such as Creative Director at AvatarLabs, where they worked on digital experiences and marketing solutions for clients including Netflix, HBO, and Disney, and Director of Product Design at Beachbody, where they led the transition of the fitness company into the consumer digital streaming and e-commerce space. Additionally, they founded and served as the Chief Creative Director of Boutique Creative, a digital product and branding agency, and worked as an Associate Creative Director at The Cimarron Group, creating interactive products and digital campaigns for the entertainment and hospitality industries. Karin began their career as a Creative Lead at ZEHNER, specializing in e-commerce, and held positions as a Senior Art Director at Tempel and Creuna. Throughout their career, Karin has demonstrated a strong passion for design, strategy, and innovative solutions in the digital space.

Karin Nord's education history begins in 1994 when they attended Berghs School of Communication. Karin pursued Graphic Design & Illustration during their time there until 1995. Following this, they enrolled at Laguna College of Art and Design from 1996 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Graphic Design with a specialization in Graphic Design.
